Piano Tree 2021 – Victorious Festival

In Events by Ben Jinks

Let’s throwback to the glorious day that was Victorious Festival 2021. We’ve all had a horrible year and it seemed that life wasn’t going to be the same again, but then the August bank holiday arrived, oh and what a bank holiday weekend it was.

We were spoilt to 3 days of beaming hot sun which complimented the festival and increased everyone’s mood 10-fold! PMA’s Piano Tree standing stoically by the East entrance to the festival, enticing people with its striking, beautifully designed pianos and hypnotic melodies.

Firstly, we’d like to thank the amazing artists and designers out there that took part in our Piano Tree Design Competition, your creativity was a marvel to witness, however there could be only one winner, well done again to Emilie-Jane Osborne on your sun design!

We kicked off Day 1 with our own Jazzy Gina, tantalising us with her piano skills.

Next the Piano Tree was treated to Megan Linford, who while was feeling under the weather, gave a beautiful performance with her acoustic guitar.

The PMA Ukulele Jam was next, providing such classics as β€˜Don’t Look Back in Anger’ and β€˜Sweet Caroline’, audience participation guaranteed and a few even picked up a ukulele to join us!

Marley Blandford, the stage hopping multi-instrumentalist was next. He played all weekend on various stages, do you have blisters on your fingers Marley?

The Up and coming Harrison Rhys was next, providing the tree and its guests to covers and originals, it was great having you along play for us!

Closing the first day was the return of the PMA Ukulele Jam band.

Here we go! Day 2 at the Piano Tree, so long as the paint stays on Emilie-Jane’s winning Sun Piano, the sun will remain high in the sky and the Piano Tree will be welcome shade to all festival goers. Word must have travelled as it was a very busy Sunday indeed!

Jazzy Gina returned to open the tree again, if you’re looking to get lessons from her, just give PMA a call!

Fugitive Orchestra was next to play at the Piano Tree, fresh off from his set at the Castle Stage! He impressed everyone with his funky rock fusion in a loop pedal act, it was a great set and he provided jovial philosophical chit chat in between. Not to mention he got a small backing dancer to support his act!

The PMA Ukulele Jam band was back!

Marley Blandford was back too! Thanks Marley for the impromptu set!

Thank you to Mary Red who provided us with Amy Winehouse inspired vibes, a surprise reunion with her old guitar player in the crowd sparked renditions of old covers they used to play together.

And with the crowd in full force, the PMA Ukulele Jam band closed the Piano Tree for 2021, providing encore after encore after encore, audience participation and guest ukulele players. What a great way to finish off an amazing weekend, creating a community for people to have fun!

We’ll see you next year!
