He is always up for learning about new musical styles and different genres and has already made some fantastic progress since starting his piano lessons. #ThePianoTree at @victoriousfestival Piano Design #ThePianoTree at @victoriousfestival Piano Design Competition! - We're back at Victorious Festival this summer with more of our gloriously decorated pianos and this year we're giving YOU the chance to come up with the design for one! - Our favourite design will be professionally painted onto a real piano and featured at the PMA Piano Tree at Victorious Festival 2021 for all festival-goers to enjoy. - Our winner will also receive a pair of tickets to the festival and a PMA goodie bag, including merch and a free music lesson in the instrument of your choice! - Add your design to the comments of this post or enter via our website (link in bio). Welcome to today's edition of Meet the Team! Today Welcome to today's edition of Meet the Team! Today we have a PMA veteran - Lewis! 😁 Name - Lewis Instruments - Guitar and ukulele 🎸 Favourite artist - Led Zeppelin Background - Lewis started his guitar journey as a teenager, where he started learning songs by classic pop punk artists such as Blink 182 and Sum 41. Lewis realised just how much he loved the guitar, so he started taking private lessons to improve his playing. After Lewis became serious about his guitar playing, he went to ACM to study music and began performing with various function bands. He also discovered a passion for classical music, and performed many solo classical pieces for his course. Lewis has been with PMA for 5 years and maintains a large amount of happy students, it’s a pleasure to work with him and we’re very happy he’s here! Fun fact - Once sat directly next to Ian McKellen on a coach on the way home from a festival. We were certain this meant a PMA shoutout in his next film but we haven’t heard anything just yet. #teacher #guitarist #ukulelist #music

. 💥 STUDENT SPOTLIGHT 💥 Hello everyone, we . 💥 STUDENT SPOTLIGHT 💥 Hello everyone, we hope you’ve had a good week! We have an excellent drummer for the spotlight today - Karen! Here she is playing one of her grade pieces. Karen has been with us less than a year but is already working on Grade 3! Super impressive, and goes to show the power of practice.🥁😮 Here is what her teacher, Matt, had to say - “Karen is super fun to teach, always brings such a happy vibe to her drum lessons. I have never seen someone so dedicated to drums from day one, it's clear each lesson how much Karen has practiced. Welcome to today's Meet the Team. Today's edition Welcome to today's Meet the Team. Today's edition - Mike! 🙌 Name - Mike Instruments - Piano and bass 🎹 🎸 Favourite artist - Pink Floyd Background - Mike began his music training early when he started classical piano training at 7 years old. It was at around age 12 that he also picked up the bass, and started teaching himself on both instruments. A healthy diet of classical music and rock bands like Pink Floyd allowed Mike to really flourish as a musician, and it wasn’t long before he began his studies at the prestigious Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM).👨‍🎓 By the time he graduated, Mike’s originals band was firmly established and he was gigging regularly - with many of his shows taking place in the Netherlands. Since then, Mike decided it was time to focus on his teaching and joined PMA in 2019. He very quickly become a hit with students, and has now cemented himself as a very busy and much loved member of PMA! 😁 Fun fact - Mike has performed with British rock band Marillion, and won their hearts with his well intended but very bad Liam Gallagher impression at the after party karaoke. #portsmouth #portsmouthmusicacademy #teacher #pianist #bassist

Welcome to today's Meet the Team! Today we meet on Welcome to today's Meet the Team! Today we meet one of our much loved guitar teachers, Ollie! 😁🙌 Name - Ollie Instruments - Guitar, bass and ukulele 🎸 Favourite artist - Death Cab for Cutie Background - Ollie started playing guitar at around 7 or 8 years old, but didn’t start taking it seriously until much later at 14. He then taught himself by learning songs from bands like Green Day, Enter Shikari and My Chemical Romance before moving on to more formal education at college and then university in Southampton. After graduating, Ollie began gigging extensively all over the UK, recording with various artists and touring with his own originals band. Ollie has remained an active performer since joining PMA 3 years ago, and his ever busy teaching schedule proves he’s not just an excellent musician, but an excellent teacher too! Fun fact - Ollie performed as a session guitarist for Bucks Fizz, one of the UK’s Eurovision winners! 🎶 #guitarist #ukulele #bassist #teacher #portsmouth #portsmouthmusicacademy
